Dear family,
Today is Ash Wednesday and marks the beginning of the season of Lent. This year, we will embark on something a little different for Lent – we will be kicking off our sermon series “Our Story of God and Us.” Together with this sermon series, we are also starting on a project to tell our stories in various ways.
i have always loved United Church of Christ’s “God is still speaking” campaign. One of the quotations they often used was “Don’t put a period where God placed a comma.” The story of God’s love for humanity continues beyond the Bible – it continues to unfold in lives and communities. Yes, it unfolds in our lives and our community!
So this season of Lent, we want to find ways to reflect on our stories, and allow these stories to witness to God’s love.
Last Sunday, we brought some of our siblings out for lunch to celebrate Lunar New Year. i brought the group to a restaurant at Geylang Lor 23, a stone’s throw from where we called home previously. There are many stories there – and some of you first joined us there. And as we tell the stories of the past, the story of God and Us is still unfolding today.
Know that God is always with you, and you are always God’s beloved.
With love,
Miak
