Dear FCC family,
Two weeks ago, we launched a churchwide stained glass project that was originally initiated and crafted by John and Kyn, and it is called Witnessing Through Stained Glass. During this season of Lent, we want to invite you to reflect on your spiritual journey and perhaps express your story through drawing on one of the tiles. At the end of Lent and on Easter Sunday, we are hoping to unveil a mosaic of our tiles as a combined witness to God’s love in our lives.
If like me, you are not a very artistic person, please don’t worry. What we are looking for in this project is not perfection but an authentic piece of you and your story in the completed “stained glass” that combines all of our pieces of art. Some of our siblings have started on the project and a few have even submitted their tiles! You are welcome to do more than one tile and here are the instructions and more info: fcc.la/stainedglass
You can collect the tiles from the pastors or Daniel at church, and please invite your cell group mates to participate too. This Wednesday at prayer meeting (and the subsequent Wednesdays during Lent), the pastors will be facilitating a time of contemplation as we reflect on how to tell our stories through our stained glass tile. For those who would like to work on their tiles in church, our church meeting room will be open from 1-3pm every Sunday till 28 March 2021. I am really looking forward to this process and the unveiling of our “stained glass” on Easter Sunday!
This Sunday, join us as we continue on our sermon series, Our Story of God and Us — The Three Great Loves.
Shalom,
Pauline
