Dear FCC family,
We know when a storm is coming when we see the dark clouds gather. And in such a time we are living in – the clouds are indeed gathering.
Warmongers continue to fan the flames, bringing instability and suffering to many people, and edging us closer to nuclear war. Rising prices continue to be a concern especially for those struggling to make ends meet. People continue to struggle with health issues – both physical and mental. The world continues to be separated to “us” and “them” – distracting us from seeing our our common humanity, our common destiny on this planet that is on the brink of ecological disaster.
It is in this dark clouds, this darkness that we struggle. Like how Jacob struggled all night and will not let go, saying, “I will not let you go, unless you bless me,” may we learn not to let go – and await the coming of dawn.
Join me this Sunday as we reflect on what it means to struggle in such a time as this.
Shalom,
miak
