Dear FCC family,
Lynnette spoke powerfully in her sermon “Unknown Tongues For An Unknown People” and she got me thinking – sometimes we are so focused on unity and having one voice, we forgot that at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit manifested through the people in different voices! What if God wanted a community where everyone brought their unique gifts, their unique ways of speaking, their differences together to glorify God and transform the world?
And from “Easter Encounters,” we move to “Speaking Differently”
And speaking of speaking differently, i am really excited about the Heart Truths: The Abrahamic Faiths & LGBTQ. Rabbi Miriam from the United Hebrew Congregation, Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib – the Vice-chairperson of the Center for Interfaith Understanding and i will be sharing about how the Abrahamic faiths have perceived LGBTQ in their socio-historical contexts. i have certainly learned a lot during our discussion, and i hope you would too! Shalom,
