Dear siblings-in-Christ,
Greetings from London!
i asked in my sermon 2 Sundays ago – do you know where you would be in 5, 10 years time? Well, i didn’t know i would be here in London 5 weeks ago. This trip was a last minute trip to attend the Global Interfaith Commission on LGBT+ lives Conference.
i was walking back to the hotel with Rev Brent Hawkes and Rev Elder Cecilia Eggleston and as we were crossing the bridge, the county hall was lit up in rainbow colours.
We were all taking in this moment – the paths we are led to often surprise us. Obviously this light up was not in conjunction with our conference, it was a moment of serendipity. We were quiet, taking in the moment, and then we snapped pictures to remember this moment.
And here before me are some of the many who have labored long before me, and are still laboring in this work of justice and love.
God continues to surprise. God continues to speak.
How do we continue to pay attention to God speaking to us in moments like this?
Shalom,
miak
