Dear FCC family,
Last week, after the bulletin went out, we were able to fulfill all the requests for the T-Mart project before our deadline on last Sunday. On behalf of the team, i would like to thank all of you who have contributed. This is one way we live out our faith and take care of the least of our siblings and love them as Christ has loved us.
Some of you may be aware of the case of Nagaenthran — a man with borderline IQ who was arrested with 42.72g of heroin when he was only 21. He has spent 12 years in prison, and his execution is scheduled on 10 November. i hope that you would join me in praying for mercy for him – that M Ravi, the human rights lawyer, will be successful in his legal challenge next Monday – so a life may be saved. For those who want to read more about the case – you can read more here.
“Justice without mercy is cruelty” – St Thomas Aquinas
i pray that there will come a day we abolish the death penalty – and we seek restorative justice rather than punitive justice.
Shalom,
miak
