Dear friends,
Last week, during the EOGM, we voted in favour of putting the property at One Commonwealth for sale. This means that the Board will now look at different options to be voted on as how we will move forward.
There is a lot of uncertainty and there are many unanswered questions. Where will we move to? How will it look like? Will things change drastically? How will it impact us as a community?
It is times like this that we gather to remember collectively God’s providence and God’s abiding presence on our journey. Like the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night that accompanied the Israelites as they left Egypt, God has been guiding us from the Attic to Yangtze, from Yangtze to Aljunied, from Aljunied to Commonwwealth.
We are more than a place – we are a community. A Christ-centered community who seeks God. As long as we faithfully follow Christ, and seek to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke and set the oppressed free, God will say “Here am I.”
Isaiah 58:9-11
If you remove the yoke from among you,
the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil,
if you offer your food to the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the afflicted,
then your light shall rise in the darkness
and your gloom be like the noonday.
The Lord will guide you continually,
and satisfy your needs in parched places,
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters never fail.
Shalom,
