
This morning, my seminary friend shared something that moved me.
“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief.
Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now.
You are not obligated to complete the work,
but neither are you free to abandon it.” —- from the Talmud
In this season of Lent, may we let go of thinking that changing the world it is all up to us, and may we also let go of thinking that changing the world is all up to God. It is not either/or, it is both/and.
