The announcement yesterday that this circuit breaker period is going to be extended till June didn’t surprise me, given that the situation hasn’t improved, but i still felt disappointed.
I made a few calls today to check in on a few folks – especially the older ones in our community. Mrs Yap and Molly are doing well, and missing all of you. Do send your regards to folks you think about in FCC – whether it is giving them a call, or sending them a message.
I don’t know about you, but I miss church. I miss seeing the regulars, and the ones who drop by occasionally, and the ones whose attendance surprises me – in a good way.
One of the things i miss is being able to celebrate communion with the community. i led communion last Sunday, and i missed that reverent silence we have during communion and that heightened awareness that God is among us in that moment.
This Sunday, i would be talking about the passage from Luke 24:13-35 – on the road to Emmaus, focusing on the breaking of bread.
Do join me this Sunday with the elements prepared – whether it is a slice of bread, a cookie, a biscuit with some juice, wine or even just water, and enter again into the awareness that God is with us, and feeding and nourishing us.
This evening, as it has been for many Wednesdays, we gather for a prayer meeting and you can join us at 8pm at http://bit.ly/FCCprayermeeting2020 to pray.
Join us again this Sunday at https://aka.ms/fcclive to access our online service and you can refer to the more detailed instructions below.
Shalom,
