Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!
We celebrated Easter this past Sunday, and yet, for some of us, it still feels like Good Friday. The circuit breaker measures are getting more strict, some of of members are mourning the loss of family members (not to Covid-19, but to cancer).
Like the disciples, they didn’t experience Easter immediately. It was the women who went to the tomb who discovered that it was empty. Thomas, in this week’s lectionary reading, was not present when Jesus appeared to the rest in the upper room. It is difficult to see resurrection when he was still grieving and mourning.
We may not see resurrection yet – we only hear of bad news and more bad news – but Easter is also about hope. Hope when we have yet to see light at the end of the tunnel.
i caught a glimpse of resurrection during our Easter Sunday service and i want to thank the worship team – Rain, Paul, Victor, Em, Carrie and Lynnette, and our young guest performers Grace and Charis, the AV team – Yanmei, Chong Lip and Gary, and Pauline leading the team – for all the love they poured into the service. It was a labour of love, and it showed.
It is not an easy time and some of you may need an listening ear and pastoral care. Those of you who would like Pauline or myself to check in on you – please do reach out to us. We are happy to arrange for a time to be with you. Please contact us at info@freecomchurch.org
We have also been gathering every Wednesday for a prayer meeting and you can join us at 8pm at http://bit.ly/FCCprayermeeting2020 to pray.
Join us again this Sunday at https://aka.ms/fcclive to access our online service and you can refer to the more detailed instructions below.
Shalom,
