Dear friends,
Defiant Hope.
Reconciling Peace.
Audacious Joy.
Abiding Love
We come to the final week of Advent and we slow down. It is also the winter solstice this Sunday – the longest night for those in the Northern hemisphere. For us, being so near the equator, it is just a little noticeable that days are shorter. Even so, we are reminded that even the longest night has a turning point and renewal often begins not with sudden change, but with quiet, abiding love. Like trees that shed their leaves in winter in order to bud again in spring, we are invited to rest, release, and trust that God’s love is at work beneath the surface. Christmas comes as the promise that we are not alone in the night — the light is already on its way.
Awaiting the coming of the Prince of Peace.
