Dear friends,
Pauline began our Lenten sermon series “Tend” inviting us to relook at Jesus’ parable of the barren fig tree. This is the first time i realised i had been assuming that landowner was God – which is how this parable has usually been interpreted. But in the light of the preceding verses in Luke 13, perhaps it is an invitation for us to repent – to change our thinking.
Perhaps we are the ones who are impatient with ourselves, and giving up when we don’t see any fruits, and God is the gardener pleading with us to be patient and not give up.
We continue this Sunday this season of Lent as Alvin shares on “Tending to Wounds” as we think about healing, care and love.
Come join us this Sunday!
Shalom,
miak
