Dear friends,
This Sunday, we are holding our Annual Constituents’ Meeting. The attendance in previous years for our meetings is around 40-50 people, and i believe that comes from a high level of trust in the leadership of the board all these years. While that is a good thing, i hope to encourage higher levels of participation so that we develop a deeper understanding of how FCC is run and greater level of participation of the congregation in church affairs. This would build a good foundation for FCC’s future as we translate Jesus’ teachings into principles that guide us as a community.
Too often church business is seen as just business, and sometimes the “business” aspect may not be aligned with our values and principles. We don’t often lift up church business, governance and administration as worship – but as a necessity for running an organisation. I think that if we see church business as worship, then we would be more aligned with God’s will. We will explore more of this on Sunday, and we would also be presenting the pastoral update for the Annual Constituent’s Meeting during the sermon so more of you have an opportunity to learn more about how we do things here at FCC.
See you on Sunday!
Shalom
