We have been working on bringing the film “1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture” to Singapore for a public screening in time for IDAHOBIT (International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination) on 18 May 2024.
We received the ratings from IMDA yesterday, and we are now confirming the venue at the moment. We will be doing more publicity once things are confirmed and ticket sales begin.
This documentary follows the story of researchers who trace the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians to a grave mistranslation of the Bible in 1946. It chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University which unveil astonishing new revelations, and casts significant doubt on any biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. The film features commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors.
The director of the film, Sharon “Rocky” Roggio will be flying in for the Q&A and we are excited at how we are living out our call to witnesses to Gods’ love for all people.
