Dear FCC family,
We began Holy Week this past Sunday looking at the events chronicled in the Gospel according to Mark through the eyes of the woman with the alabaster jar who anointed Jesus at Bethany.
Jesus said “truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she was done will be told, in memory of her.” (Mark 14:9)
We continue journeying with Jesus through Holy Week – moving from resistance (Palm Sunday), to love (Maundy Thursday), to death (Good Friday), and finally to resurrection (Easter Sunday).
On Thursday evening, we would commemorate the Last Supper, and also Jesus’ washing of his disciples’ feet. This service is an experiential one – so it will only be on-site.
Then on Friday morning, we would be remembering the crucifixion of Jesus. The worship team has been practicing hard to lead us with a choral versions of hymns we are familiar with.
We then enter into silence on Holy Saturday, waiting for the morning when the woman disciples discover the empty tomb.
Let us continue to contemplate on the cross this Holy Week.
