This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, and also the beginning of our next sermon series, Don’t Go To Church, Be The Church.
Church isn’t just a place. It is the Body of Christ. It is not only the place we seek refuge and healing but also the place we live out what it means to love, to do justice, to make peace, to reconcile.
The Church isn’t the destination. It isn’t the place we can rest our laurels and think that’s it, we are here. It isn’t the finishing line, but the starting line to how we participate in God’s continuing work in this world. How do we be the church? How do we – in an era where the Church is more known for its hypocrisy and judgemental attitudes than love, compassion and justice – be the salt and light of the world?
