Happy Lunar New Year! I hope that you had a good time with your loved ones and catching up with folks.
Today is Valentine’s day, and also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent.
The sermon series for this year’s Lent is titled “TLC: Tending. Loving. Caring.” Lent is a time of slowing down, reflecting, and preparing. For this season, we want to explore how we tend, love and care for ourselves, each other, and the community around us.
One of the programs we have this Lent is the Spiritual Companion programme where we are accompanied by companions as we reflect through some guiding questions. This require quite a bit of resources, and we would like to invite people to indicate their interest so we can tailor the programme to the number of people signing up. I also have a piece of good news – a member of our community has pledged to match donations to our renovation fund up to a total of $5000 in this season of Lent. I hope that you would consider giving to the renovation fund as we hope to raise the amount needed for renovation we planned in the second half of 2024.
