This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent as we wait in hope and anticipation for Christmas — the wonder of God becoming one of us. But in these troubling times of war and struggle, pain and sickness, how can a weary world experience joy and wonder? How can you?
Our Advent preaching series, as well as our Christmas Eve service, is titled Immeasurably More, and this was inspired by Ephesians 3:20, “Now to God who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine…”
God accomplished far more than we could ask or imagine when Jesus first entered into our world more than 2,000 years ago, and was called Immanuel, God with us. The world he entered into was also experiencing troubled times of war and struggle, pain and sickness. But Jesus’ arrival brought hope, peace, joy and love. And this is true even today.
Come rediscover the joy and wonder of Christmas as you prepare your hearts this Advent for the impossible!
