Dear FCC family,
We will be celebrating our 19th anniversary as a church with a special service this Sunday, 2 October 2022. The theme of our anniversary service is ‘The Great Banquet’ where we remember God’s goodness in inviting us to The Table, and the challenge for us to extend this table of welcome to everyone, regardless of the labels the world uses. We invite you to come join us and consider what it means to move from being a guest to a host in the kin-dom of God.
As we prepare for the anniversary service, we would like to invite you to consider participating in the following ways:
1. We will be catering lunch but we would like to invite you to contribute to the fellowship meal by bringing a simple dish or snack that you would like to share with your FCC family. It has been a long time since we last gathered and had a meal together like this, and we think this is a great way to practise being a co-host. We will have a table set up in the sanctuary for you to place your food items before the service starts. So do come early!
Some of you have asked if it would be possible to order food through delivery platforms to be sent to FCC and the answer is YES! Please inform the Welcome team on duty and we will make arrangements to receive the food deliveries.
2. As a follow-through practice from Miak’s sermon two weeks ago on being better stewards, we would like to use less disposals, especially at big events like these. If you have a food container and/or utensils that you can bring from home for your own use during our catered lunch, please consider doing so. We would like to do better as a community, and we know change happens a small step at a time.
Please know that the above two invitations are purely optional but encouraged. You are welcome to come just as you are, and we look forward to seeing you and celebrating together!
Shalom,
Pauline
