Dear siblings-in-Christ,
This evening we begin the first session in our 3-part Lent prayer series. These sessions are designed to have both teaching and experiential components so whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, I hope they can be beneficial to your spiritual journey. Even more, I hope we can all learn and experience something new together as a community of God’s beloved.
The focus tonight is on Centering Prayer. Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. So if you have been wanting to deepen your relationship with God, do consider joining us this evening at fcc.la/fccprays.
May this season of Lent be a time of return, reconnection and renewal for us all.
Shalom,
Pauline
