Dear siblings-in-Christ,
Today is Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of the season of Lent. We call it Ash Wednesday because it reminds us of the frailty of the human condition: We are dust, and to dust we will return (Gen 3:19). The Lentern season is the 40-day period before Good Friday and Easter, and it is an opportune time for us to pay deeper attention to the places God is inviting us to examine, change and grow in.
This year, as a faith community we will be focusing on the spiritual practice of Prayer during Lent. Other than our usual Wednesday prayer meetings, we will be having 3 special sessions to learn and experience different forms of prayer together. The details are below and please register at info@freecomchurch.org to let us know you’re interested. You can also email us if you have any questions. I encourage you to prayerfully consider how you’d like to commit to your intentions for this season.
This Sunday, we begin a new preaching series, Here We Grow – Sowing. Looking forward to seeking God’s heart with you in this season of reflection and growth.
Shalom,
Pauline
