Dear friends,
As we enter the season of Epiphany, we are taking time to celebrate the manifestation of God in earthly form. Through the birth of Christ, God entered into our time and space. As Rachel Held Evans wrote, “We could not become like God, so God became like us.”
This Sunday, we continue on our sermon series, Epiphany: A Revelation of Love. “In the beginning, God…” so began the epic love story of all time.
As we ponder on God’s revelation of love, I want to leave you with this poem:
When the song of the angels is stilled
when the star in the sky is gone
when the kings and princes are home
when the shepherds are back with their flocks
the work of Christmas begins:
to find the lost
to heal the broken
to feed the hungry
to release the prisoner
to rebuild the nations
to bring peace among the people
to make music in the heart.
