Dear friends,
We had our monthly newcomers meeting this past Sunday at church and there was quite a big number this time. What each person shared with us was precious. Some are straight allies who want to make a difference. Some are going through difficult journeys. One lady shared that she was in one of the more gay opposing church for a few years and even served with them as a part time staff and youth cg leader. But she struggled a lot because of their teaching that homosexuality was wrong, and she was worried she was going to hell. She is a cancer survivor and recently had a lot of issues with her family. Because they suspect she’s gay, they have been treating her quite badly. So she was feeling quite depressed and suicidal. One night she was praying and asking God for answers as she searched through YouTube videos on this issue. While searching, she saw our pink dot video and she said it was truly an answer to prayer. She said, “Thank you for making that video that saved my life.” I teared as she was sharing because it was not just an answer to her prayer. It was also an answer to my prayer. When the video first came out, I prayed that it would reach those it needed to reach. Regardless of the good or bad comments it would receive, as long as it reaches those it needs to reach, I would be grateful. So hearing her story reminded me that our great and loving God is working and we have a special mission to fulfil. Let’s continue to press on together!
Thanking God for you,
Pauline
