Dear friends,
During this stay-home period, there are many things happening around us, both within our households and out in the community. We used to be able to have lunch together at the kopitiam after Sunday services, and chat about the big and small things that concern us. I miss that and I am thankful for Angela who initiated the idea of having Circuit Breaker conversations online.
We will be kicking off the first conversation this Friday, 8 May, with “How is your salary day like?”, which is about migrant worker issues in Singapore. And for next Friday, 15 May, we will be sharing about the challenges in relationships during this stay-at-home phase. If you’re interested in either of these topics or have any questions, please drop Angela an email at 2005.music@gmail.com and she will get in touch with you.
This Sunday, we will be delving into John 14 together and I wonder how many of us can say we truly know Jesus? Even some of the disciples who lived with him day and night didn’t really know him. What did Jesus mean when he said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”? Is this statement meant to be exclusionary or does this “I AM” statement mean something much deeper? Perhaps Jesus is challenging us to something greater, especially those of us who profess to be followers of Christ.
Join us this Sunday at https://aka.ms/fcclive to access our online service and we look forward to worshipping with you!
Shalom,
Pauline
