Dear friends,
Last Sunday, Pastor CJ from +EVO shared with us the deep human truth that mattering is a meta-need. It holds within it our longing for belonging, connection, and purpose. At the heart of it, to matter is to know you matter to someone. She invited us to send messages to people starting with the line “If it weren’t for you…” and I received many heartwarming and moving messages from many of you. Thank you for your love, and I see how this exercise can truly change communities for the better. I hope you will continue with this practice, and make a difference in every sphere of life that you are a part of. And I hope you get the chance to hear how you matter to someone too.
We also matter to God. When we experience that we matter to God, we receive the Spirit’s power to become witnesses. Not by striving but being empowered to live in a way that helps others know they matter too. As a community, this is how we grow into oneness, reflecting the love between God, Jesus, and the Spirit. This is our shared calling and purpose as the people of God.
So come join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to receive the Spirit’s power to become witnesses as one, as faith takes deeper root in our lives.
Shalom,
Pauline
