Dear FCC family,
How have you been lately and how is your walk with God? We are in the first week of Lent and I wonder if you decided to do anything different during this season to connect more deeply with God. In the midst of our busy lives and with the many concerns surrounding us, it’s not easy to carve out time and pay attention to our spiritual lives. After all, there always seem to be more pressing issues and needs that cry out for our attention and we unwittingly tune out the gentle whispers of God.
I took some days off last week to just rest, reflect and be still. I realised I haven’t taken a break since the middle of last year, and life and work has been pretty full-on. I’m sure it’s the same for many of us. One of the things I found helpful was just slowing down and being more mindful of what’s going on around me. On my walks with my dog, I began to hear the different songs the various birds were singing, and notice how it felt as the wind rustled by. For a while, it felt like time slowed down and I felt present in the moment with God. It’s hard to describe the sense of peace, calm and connectedness that come with those moments but I pray that as you tune in to such moments with God, you will be greatly blessed!
Looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday in person or online.
Shalom,
Pauline
