Dear friends,
I hope the start of the new year has been gentle on you. Last Sunday, we reflected on what it means that God has chosen and adopted us. God’s love is inclusive, and “chosen” doesn’t mean chosen instead of others, it means chosen for the sake of others.
Remember that before your first heartbeat, before the first sunrise, God chose you, and God still chooses you. And because you are chosen, your life’s work is to help others know they are loved and chosen too.
This Sunday is Epiphany, and we will be exploring the significance of the Magi’s story in the revelation of God’s plan. Why does God choose outsiders from far away to be the first people to witness and celebrate the birth of Christ? What significance does it have for us today and how does this relate to love taking root?
