Dear friends,
We introduced our Thai friend, Ik Q, to you during our recent Sunday service. Ik Q is one of the leaders of Rainbow Stream, the only lgbtq+ affirming Christian ministry in Thailand currently. In many ways, they remind me of the beginnings of FCC when we were SafeHaven more than 20 years ago. Rainbow Stream started only recently, and we are working together to have Ik Q intern with us for a few months. Our hope is that we can share our learnings with him as a way to support the affirming ministry in Thailand.
We have applied for the relevant visa for him and it will take some time but in the meantime, he’s here with us for 2 weeks to get to know FCC’s ministries better, and for our leaders and congregation to get to know him. Please say hi to him when you see him on Sunday, ok?
This Sunday, I’ll be exploring Acts 17:16-34 and how Paul spoke with the Athenians about their unknown God through first listening to their spiritual longing, and bridging this longing with an awareness of the God who made us all. I have also invited Ik Q to share his very interesting story and journey.
