What does it mean to you to follow Jesus?
I remember when I was younger, we used to sing this song in Sunday School and you might find it familiar too:
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, no turning back
To my mind as a child back then, “following” meant something quite literal and I had the image of walking behind Jesus. Over time as I grew older and as my spiritual journey progressed and evolved, I now have a deeper and more nuanced understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.
Many Christians today tend to be more obsessed with what Christians believe than how Christians live. How does your life speak of “following Jesus” in the choices you make and in the way you live everyday?
